Wedding Planning 101 hosted by Whim Events Boston
Last week I went to a really insightful, helpful and adorable workshop called "Wedding Planning 101", hosted by a really great event company called Whim Events.
The company is considered a preferred vendor at the Lenox (my wedding venue) and I happily reached out to them mainly for my interest in their floral service. I soon discovered they are a full fledged Super Team of Wedding Saviors (aka coordinators/stylists/florists.)
These ladies really know their stuff. We received not only 5 years worth of advice in less than 2 hours at "Wedding Planning 101", but also a full budget template to use and fill out, a timeline as reference during the planning process; they also had a panel of newlyweds to answer our questions, AND they had a mini showcase of a couple of their preferred vendors.
I haven't hired them...yet...but going to their workshop was one of the best things that I've done throughout this whole wedding process so far! Not only were they thorough in providing insight, especially on budgeting, but I felt like tons of weight was lifted off this bridezilla's shoulders as I finally was able to get real answers from real HUMANS, who are pros and know what the heck they're talking about!
The best part of this experience is, I won some IDEA-BOARD-time with them and I CAN'T WAIT to see what they come up with! I've also already spent some time with them to discuss floral arrangements.
I guess the moral of this story is, trust the pros. You probably think you know what you're doing but really, the Knot and Wedding Wire can only do so much for you. Even Martha Stewart can't answer all of your questions.
Reach out to people, don't be afraid to ask questions and for help. And don't worry, they likely won't charge you for it!
